Cynthia R. Stillings serves as the Associate Dean for the College of the Arts at Kent State University, focusing on undergraduate and graduate student affairs.  She was previously Director of the School of Theatre and Dance from 2006 to 2014 and taught lighting design and technology and stage management since 1991.  She has also taught at The Ohio State University, Wright State University, and Oberlin College.  She designs regionally and nationally, having served as resident lighting designer for Cleveland Opera and Porthouse Theatre.  Other designs include work at Great Lakes Theater, Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Contemporary American Theatre Company, Cincinnati Opera, Playhouse Square Foundation and Skylight Opera Theatre.
