Paul Westlake, Jr., FAIA

Paul Westlake is a Senior Principal and Global Performing Arts and Cultural Leader for DLR Group|Westlake Reed Leskosky. His experience includes over 30 years as an architect and designer specializing in visual and performing arts and other cultural arts facilities for significant professional, community, and academic clients. In fact, he has had personal involvement in the study, renovation, or design of approximately 250 cultural venues nationally and internationally. Over the course of his career, he has had many opportunities to work with academic clients, including well-respected colleges, universities, and private secondary educational institutions, on programs from visual arts, music, dance, and theater to digital media, film and broadcast, and communications. The designs Paul created for these institutions acknowledge academic traditions, while embracing new modes of learning and technological advancements, often facilitating, through design, opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration that can enhance learning and performance. Recently, he has worked with such notable institutions as Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (campus master plan and implementation), Pennsylvania State University (College of Arts and Architecture master plan), University of Nevada - Reno (fine arts and music addition), and George Mason University (visual and performing arts master plan).
