David W. Kahn

David ‘s 35 year career in the field of architectural acoustics offers an emphasis in rehearsal and performance space design for higher education institutions, and for learning environments.  His work with architects, performance and civic organizations carries particular focus on integrating acoustical design with architecture and other key design elements.  As an active trumpet player with orchestras, wind ensembles and various jazz ensembles, he offers strong perspective toward the musician end-user needs.  He has worked extensively with public and private clients effectively to accommodate the acoustical needs for students and teachers in a wide range of vibrant public assembly spaces for education, entertainment and community-buildings. As part of David’s goal of giving back to the community, he frequently speaks about acoustics and how it enhances end-user experiences at various conferences, and at various higher education institutions including Yale University and the NJ Institute of Technology.
