Dr. Joseph Hopkins

Dr. Joseph Hopkins has served as dean of the School of the Arts for the past decade. Before Samford, Hopkins served as dean of the Petrie School of Music at Converse College and chair of the Department of Music at the University of Evansville. He founded the Harlaxton International Chamber Music Festival and served on the faculty of the Operafestival di Roma (Rome, Italy). He has performed broadly in operatic, broadcast, and concert venues and has recorded in both classical and popular idioms. Recent and upcoming performances include Carnegie Hall, the Kolkata Symphony Orchestra of India, and performances in the Dominican Republic and USA.
